Before and After

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words!

What is it about those online listings that feature nothing other than the exterior of the house?!  “There’s obviously something wrong with that property” thinks the potential buyer.  And then there are those listings that have a full pack of pictures to look at – and they’re enough to put you right off viewing the property – the rooms look small, or dark, or outdated, or without any interesting features.

The vast majority of home buyers today research neighbourhoods and homes online. What they see in the online listing is what gives them that all-important first impression.

So before you photograph the home (inside and outside) – you’d better be sure that each picture is going to create a really good impression. Set the stage. Then take the pics and get on with your marketing plan.

Think of the fashion photographer, who leans forward to move that wisp of hair from the model’s face …. the food photographer, who adjusts the items on the table to ensure the product looks appetizing.

Setting the stage – i.e. staging – is the critical first step in your marketing plan.
